Privacy Policy

Hacking Path is a client-side learning app. There is no account to create, and we do not collect personal data about you. In short: what you do here stays on your device.
What we store
- Lesson progress only. Which lessons you have completed and which one you last visited are stored in your browser's
localStorage(under the keyhackingpath.progress.v1). This never leaves your device and is never sent to us. - You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this site. If your browser blocks storage, the app still works, progress just won't persist between visits.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
- No analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies.
- No selling or sharing of data, because we don't collect any.
The practice terminal and labs
The terminal sandbox, Packet Lab, and phishing quiz are fully simulated in your browser. They do not make real network connections, and anything you type into them (including any fake passwords in the exercises) is never transmitted anywhere.
Third-party services
- Google Fonts. The site loads fonts from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com. Requesting these fonts sends your IP address to Google, which is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. - Hosting. Like any website, the host that serves these pages may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
Any real-world tools mentioned in the lessons (crt.sh, Shodan, etc.) are described for learning only, the app does not call them on your behalf.
Children
Hacking Path is an educational resource for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.
